McAlister Kemp proved they are most certainly worthy of the title ''headliner act'' - mixing in tracks from their debut album and new longplayer, Country Proud, they held the packed crowd in the palm of their hand throughout the set.

The Country Thunder show was always going to be one of the best country shows to see this year and it was.

 It was a big night fo the cream of Australian country music on Saturday 15 October as the Australian Independent Artists' Development Awards (AIADAs) were bestowed on our most deserving stars.

Excuse me for a second while I briefly quote a childhood hero - Mr T. I pity the fool who missed Jace Everett and Kirsty Akers at Rooty Hill RSL on Friday night.

Proving it is the premier country music venue in western Sydney, Rooty Hill RSL will stage a show more than worthy of a hearty street corner spruik on November 19.

From 7.30pm members and their guests will be entertained by not one, but four of the hottest acts currently touring the scene.

It seems Australian country music star Adam Brand is somewhat a creature of habit.

I've got to admit, I was pretty vibed for this show well in advance of the night.
Being a fan of Corb's music and never having had the chance to see him on any of his five previous visits to Australia I was confident this was going to be a contender for my ''gig of the year''.
