Home town

Biggest musical influence:
I have so many but the one that would always be a main stay would be Jackson Browne. I didn't hear his music until I was 24 but it resonated in me and pushed me to write better music.

Five essential albums on your iPod:
Steve Earl - Copperhead Road.Jackson Browne - Solo Acoustic.Paul Kelley - So Much Water So Close To Home.Slim Dusty - Singer From Down Under.Dire Straits - Making Movies.

:
I was born in Singleton NSW and grew up on a hobby farm at Glennies Creek just outside of town. Music was a huge part of my childhood and I guess that’s where I began to develop a keen interest in playing and singing.

Favourite Greatest achievement to date:
I have had a many personal achievements to date within music and playing with the likes of Slim Dusty and Willie Nelson are some of those credits. Still I think my greatest would be having a successful singing career and playing music for a living. It takes me around the world and I meet so many new friends each passing year. As a kid this is what was in my head when I hoped for a life of playing music.Three people I'd love to have around for dinner: Jackson Browne, Emmylou Harris and Don Henley. Jackson and Don would talk about the old days in California and Emmylou and I would sing Song Bird.

Best advice you've been given:
You know you always get people saying "stay true to yourself" and other similar quotes but I can’t remember anyone really sitting me down and saying "do it this way".

The best advice I got was while reading a book of quotes and the one that I live by said: "I don't know the formula for success. I only know that trying to please everyone is a formula for failure".

One word that best sums you up:
Persevering If you weren't playing country you'd be: I grew up on a farm so I love the outdoors and country life so maybe a farmer! I also love cooking and it helps me unwind so maybe a chef! But I can't think of anything better than what I do.Best way to spend a rainy day: Having a coffee in a cafe, a drive along the coast near the beach or fishing till you’re drenched and then coming home to a warm fire and soup.

Strangest fan request:
To sign a girl’s breasts. School can never prepare you for what happens out in the real world!

Cats or dogs?: Dogs.

song:
This question is almost impossible to answer for a lover of music. Still, if I had to nominate one single song as my
favourite it would be "I'm On Fire" by Bruce Springsteen.
film:
Pulp Fiction without a doubt. I lived in Newcastle for three years from 1998 to 2001 sharing a flat with a good mate of mine. In this time I recall Pulp Fiction being played at least two times a week. We would watch a bit and then go out or put it on when we came home from a night out. Whatever the situation, it was a permanent fixture in the DVD player.
book:
This is a real hard one as I don't get to do a lot of reading these days. However, when I once had loads of time for reading I read Slim Dusty "Walk A Country Mile" at least three times. I had a huge liking of his music and life and his music had a big influence on mine. I didn't know it then but some years later I would travel around Australia and New Zealand on tour with the man himself. So yes this would be my
favourite book.
Favourite food:
Short and sweet, Pasta.
